Mr  Sammy Campbell Sleep well and rest in peace.  You will never know how much you contributed to the soundtrack of my life.  Hearing Job Opening for the first time at Station Road was one of those defining moments,  Cant explain it you just had to be there.Thank you.  X

Very sad news. Had the privilege of seeing him perform Job Opening at Soultrip New York in 2006.

Such a sad loss- what a thrilling, atmospheric anthem 'Job Opening' is,that we've loved and danced to over the decades.Another fine Soul -and Doo-Wop- voice gone; Sammy & the Del-Larks ' 1960 45','I Never Will Forget' is a lovely Doo-Wop ballad with a fine lead from Sammy, long popular with R&B vocal group fans & collectors.  Sam's 67' Vision  solo 45 'SOS For Love' is excellent, too as are his early 70's  Phil- LA of Soul 45's as Tyrone Ashley

Thanks so much for the music ,Sammy

Sammy's funeral today - RIP

Met him on the New York Soul Trip & Prestatyn Weekender. He was a great talker and had so much time for his UK fans.

He said he written Job Opening in 63 and recorded in 64. How ahead if its time was that.

A sad day - Mick
