Tobytyke Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Lost Summer Love issue on Pye sold on Ebay yesterday for £565. Does that seem a tad expensive or the going rate the way prices are rising? 2

Well it is quite scarce I suppose compared to some of the others that have sold for silly prices of late but its a lot of money to pay for a purely 'nostalgia' record....... While some prices have gone mad there seems to be a drop in price on under £100 sounds ?

Big at my youth club. Think it was 78 and possibly Russ it was certainly played for a good few months which for the Casino was a long time. Long time ago now but I still really like it and the memories that I associate it with. . Unfortunately never owned it on Pye

I did say I think it was 78 but no problem with 77, makes sense. It was one of the records that got played for a long time. Still can't remember who played it though cheers for the information 1

Winsford Soul Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 I'm already 150 due to the amphetamine kryptonite diet so here's hoping for more than just a Del larks, 1

Is buying rare northern soul the way to go There is definitely an age element, I did read something about how the market for rare jazz records rose and fell as collectors passed away and newer ones didn't take up the slack. That was probably 15 or so years ahead of northern soul; similarly I've noticed that the market for American Hardcore punk records is just starting to soar which is probably about 10 years behind northern soul. So if you're in it for the money start collecting the next big thing NOW. Probably grime records or something Edited August 6, 2020 by Timillustrator 1
Merve Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Same crash happened to the Doo Wop & Rock & Roll markets so I'm told. 13 hours ago, Winsford Soul said: I'm already 150 due to the amphetamine kryptonite diet so here's hoping for more than just a Del larks, 2
