Soulian Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 I have had this for years and never noticed the signature on the flip. Can anyone confirm if this might be a genuine Willie Hutch signature?
Smudger Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 It looks very similar to the signiture on the front of In and out album considering it is done on the label of a record 1
Ady Potts Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 (edited) He signed this sleeve for me whilst we sat talking at Blackpool the day before your record was signed. Edited July 24, 2020 by Pottsy 2
Soulian Posted July 24, 2020 Author Posted July 24, 2020 Wow great stuff. Thanks Adey. A perfect match 2
Soulian Posted July 24, 2020 Author Posted July 24, 2020 It is isn't it. Great to know it's genuine too, thanks to Adey's picture 1
Ficklefingers Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Nothing like a bit of provenance.. Guessing it was signed the same weekend, at Blackpool then ??
Soulian Posted July 24, 2020 Author Posted July 24, 2020 I would guess so, but I didn't go. I bought the record at least 12 years ago, been stuck in one of my boxes unplayed for last 10. Was sorting out and spotted the signature. Can't for the life of me remember where I bought it from lol
Ficklefingers Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Either way Ian.. Thanks to Adey you know for certain it's a pucker signature - which I think is brilliant !! Made up for you mate.. it's nice to see when someone gets a bit of good luck 1
Ady Potts Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 When I went to talk to Willie Hutch he wasn't really interested in talking to me at first. But when I then got my copy of the Phonetics "Just a boys dream" out of an envelope he said "What you got there boy?". I handed it to him, he was sat next to another guy that had come over with him. He was genuinely shocked & turned to his friend & said "Look!". Willie said it was the first copy he'd seen since way back when it was released. His face completely changed, it really lit up. Then he started talking. It was so nice to have met the man, a lovely memory. 2
