Ebay let people get away with anything Last year I won an Dan Penn single for $28 the seller mailed me and said no way was I getting a $100 record for that price and refunded my ebay payment.I replied saying he should have a reserve on it but he said he doesnt have the time to put reserves on every item the lunatic.Cannot remember his user name though. If I ever find out where he lives I will smash his face in

Seems to me he's just putting a reserve on it without saying as much! Reserves to me are greedy sellers wanting their cake and eat everybody elses! If you want a certain price for ya record... start it at that price!... I wont bid on items with reserves out of principle!

Steve

He's saving money, doing it this way, if you let ebay know they will remove it immediately as they don't like being short changed. :D

Hi Pete

Why don't you ask the seller? he's on here it's TONY SMITH.

He put up a link in the e-bay sales section a day or two ago sellers name on it was the same an on this link.

Derek

I won a Donnie Wells WDJ for around £12 and funnily enough the other Tony Smith won the Moments on Deep. Neither of us got our 45s cos the seller said he was selling them for someone else and we'd not paid enough for them so he couldn't get them offa the guy to send to us. I got a Paypal refund.

I didn't take it any further though I was miffed

I heard later from my mate in US that the seller and the guy with the actual records had come to blows over it at a record convention!!

Im surprised at this Tony Smith though. Definitely NOT on. Are you sure it's him.

Absolutely feckin' brilliant!

This should be an option on all record sales on Ebay.......

"Seller accepts Paypal, IMO, Personal Check (U.S Banks only) or his feckin' head kicked in if he Welches on the deal!!!!"

I'm going to bed pissin myself laughing!!!!

Thank you!

Neil

I wonder what would have happened if the winning bidder suddenly decide that they had bid too much for item and didn't want to pay.:boxing:thumbsup.gif

Most of the time it doesn't work that way. You get less bids on high starting prices because the potential bargain is not available (there's usually no bargain with reserves either, but the buyer can hope for a low reserve). And also, eBay charges more if you start off on a high price.

I've had a seller try this on b4....they cannot get away with it,you have to go to your ebay dispute console and then report an item not received,it doesn't make any difference if they refund the money or not,you win an item then it is legally yours as soon a you have paid, that's why paypal should be used so you have proof of payment, trust me I'm a doctor ! :boxing:

this is not on. Plus if you didn't want an item to go cheap then why the hell would sell it on ebay for anyway. Ebay to me is hit and miss you can find items on there as cheap as chips and they are worth more then you pay yet on same time you will find items that are going bonkers in price because obviously people want it and it's rare.

I Believe once your on ebay to sell be it a record worth £5 or £500 whatever you start your price at and by the end whatever is the winning bid that person will get it for that price. I expect some just want to be greedy and if they knew it was worth more and didn't expect getting that price on ebay then why put it on there.

Ask Mr Smith to come on here and explain himself.

An auction site is an auction some you win & some you lose-If you dont accept that principle you should not be involved in an auction - full stop.

I think the question put to Mr Smith should be what someone else said

Mr Smith" Ive won you item for £575.00 but Its only £300 in John Manships will you accept I dont pay you because its abit over the odds"

Let see what Mr Smiths reply is to that!
