Thinksmart Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 (edited) https://www.wigantoday.net/heritage-and-retro/retro/archives-wigan-casino-pictures-through-ages-2884350/ There are four pages, with a small link at the bottom of the pictures. Most are of pop acts at the venue which are themselves interesting. There are some Northern Soul related pictures in there too. Edited June 17, 2020 by Thinksmart 3
Zoomsoulblue Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 Great article - Winstanley on the balcony makes it look smaller than I remember- left hand side took you through to Mr M’s great times - any one know what happened to the piano

Hooker1951 Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 I worked as a doorman at the Casino1970-73 it was my privilege to open the stage door side entrance for the acts and to mind them when they were performing and to make sure they were looked after while they were on the premises and left safely , The acts included of course Edwin Starr, Jimmy Ruffin , Fantastics, William Bell, Arthur Conley, Ben E king and his Band, Tommy Hunt, Jimmy James n Vagabonds Lou Christie Johnny Johnson and the bandwagon, and many many more Soul acts Plus all the pop acts of the day . Great Days Great Memories, they were all great acts live but Ben E King was Magic keep Safe Mick Lyons 2 1
