Guest mrs norman maine Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Shame that this is finishing, had some good nights there. As we've seen already this week though, all good things do come to an end. Congrats to Len & Nina for keeping it going for so long. Hope to make it up there for the last one and that it's a 'packer', as it deserves to be.
Guest Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 such a shame , things always move on though on the soul scene. it,s only nowadays that people seem to have all this dewy eyed nostalgia for venues. remember the torch shutting and never gave it a second thought, same with wigin, that was only any good first two years max anyway. lenny,s right though to many handbag do,s that have nothing to do with the scene about are the main reason for this.so it will find a level sure as eggs are eggs and good do,s will survive, sadly though all up north and londonwith the exception of luton and hammies do. nothing left in good old w,boro. the dog and duck , nags head and finally the embankment r.i.p

I am sure along with others you will also understand the pressures he was under from the new managment and the changes they had made to the room plus their unreasonable attitude...all these things played as much of a part as the numbers issue....in my opinion and if i am wrong please correct me Len ,if there wasnt a problem with the managment i dont think He would have found the decision he made so easy and would more than likely be carrying on...as i say these are just my thoughts i am not speaking for Him directly. No decent dos left in Wellingborough...do i take it that you either forgot or dont support the idea of the new Rare Soul night at Silk that I(along with Lens support) am presently promoting?...regards Jem Edited January 20, 2007 by jemco
