Regards , Dave www.theresthatbeat.com www.hitsvillesoulclub.com Hi Dave Thanks for your kind offer, but it looks like I have been misinformed as the company does not exist, I wanted to licence some Soul Train footage which I have now found out is owned by Don Cornelius Productions and they won't entertain my requests and after reading their statement below I would be best to re think my promotional idea. Don Cornelius Productions, Inc. Don Cornelius Productions, Inc. ("DCPI") is the owner of the intellectual properties associated with SOUL TRAIN, and is a member of the eBay VeRO Program. For the duration of our thirty-two year history, we, as the creators and owners of the SOUL TRAIN weekly television show and related television, recording, and theatrical productions, have never licensed, sold, or auctioned any of our programming to be distributed on videotapes. Furthermore, DCPI has never produced any SOUL TRAIN videotapes of its own. Therefore, please be advised that videotapes containing any programming or episodes of SOUL TRAIN or SOUL TRAIN specials are bootlegs! DCPI has abstained from entering this market in order to honor our commitment to the many artists who have loaned us their talents for what they understood to be television use only. Over the years, we have worked diligently to maintain a solid reputation in both the music and television industries as an honorable organization that keeps its word to the artists and our audience. As a result, cutting-edge artists continue to make appearances on SOUL TRAIN, and we will not compromise our integrity by allowing these performances to be bootlegged. DCPI'S intellectual properties are protected under U.S. trademark and copyright laws. Anyone who, without DCPI's permission, produces, copies, distributes, displays, or performs DCPI's copyrighted materials is liable for copyright infringement. The manufacture, distribution, and/or sale of bootlegged copies of SOUL TRAIN weekly episodes or specials is illegal and involves criminal penalties. Edited January 18, 2007 by Chris Waterman

Guest Chris Waterman Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 (edited) I know it should read Mammie note to myself, read three times then press enter Edited January 18, 2007 by Chris Waterman
Guest Bogue Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 I know it should read Mammie note to myself, read three times then press enter I know the freeling well What a strange state of affairs though, wouldn't have thought the artists would be that bothered if they were released legit & they were paid thier royalties ? would have thought they would welcome the extra publicity of thier work. Even artists that are not still with us, i bet they wouldn't want thier work just locked away in a vault never to be seen again.

Then there's a whole shedload of footage out there that no one's being paid for. All this (DCPs) attitude is lay the foundation for even more bootlegging. It 's the same with Universal innit? They won't release it , so someone else does, then everyone gets snotty about bootlegging. Sometimes the 'suits' need a kick up the arse. So if Universal Pictures UK/Int previously owned the rights, then it's NBC now. Universal Music UK have recently released the Marvin, Temps, and Smokey DVDs so that's a load of Motown footage out of the past (a lot of which I hadn't seen before)....it's a slow process but things are in the pipeline.... Jo Hi Jo, Yep, I know some folks are trying and the footage from the Tempts DVD is especially good. I just sometimes get frustrated with industry 'experts' who have all the so called business acumen, but not a rhythmic bone in their body to use with it! Sooner Disney end up with all this unreleased material,(music and video) the better. You watch them shovel it out like it's going out of fashion! And they'll turn a nice profit. In fact I'm gonna call 'em now.. Regards, Dave www.theresthatbeat.com www.hitsvillesoulclub.com PS. If the guy in your avatar is something of a musical hero, then watch this space.
