It seems to me that the dance floors have come a long way what does anybody think.

The one that I remember that was a total bliss, was the memorial hall in Wrexham, that was a soullies dream. The dodgy one was at Blackpool ballroom with loose bits of wood, and my wife went head over heels and broke her wrist

Ritz in Whitworth St ... that bounce when fully loaded ...

100 Club ...  holes , divots , pillars , manholes , love each and every one of them ...

Don’t forget the wet patches from spilt drinks that make your shuffle stop dead in your tracks .

Seem to recall previous thread(s) on this .....

North Yorkshire Soul Club's venue , the Riley Smith Hall,  got a mention on one for its large sprung dance floor .

Kierby Hotel in Burnley was a great little sprung floor, apart from one corner that was more like a trampoline.

I'm biased but Winsford civic centre took some beating,  Nantwich civic,  Lowton civic,  there's a theme developing here. 😁

As well as these I’d have to add Orrell Park Ballroom and The Litherland town hall.

Mister M’s was better than the main room at Wigan. Manchester Ritz was good fun - you let the floor move you so dancing was effortless. Any wooden floor for me, especially with talc in a spot or two. Hated Marley tiles and painted concrete floors.

Civic centres had the best dance floors. Heywood being one of them.

Love the Longfield Suite at Prestwich. Think that is a civic one too?🤔

The Callis Waudby Ballroom in Hull back in the day was a lovely Dance floor. DJ'd there many times and did my  thing on the Dance floor (wish i was as agile now) Just Fragile these Days, Was one of those Soul Nites you could get away playing just about anything and was always appreciated 🙂

Agree with every one of them. Brilliant floors on which to spend an evening.
