We all love our records we play them at home and we play them in public as DJ's but who is listening in? I own a bar and Easter Sunday we were due to hold a vinyl only event not necessarily all soul lots of local DJ's playing anything from soul to punk to funk to rock and roll. Anyway a first for me we did a live feed as we could not hold the actual event and having "attended" lots of virtual soul nights/nighters recently I thought oh lovely people can still enjoy. Within 30 minutes of going live 6 of my tracks had been blocked and blanked out ! ( I did get notification but still )... So how? or whom? is listening in? Is it an electronic policing system? Has Alexa been trained to hunt down obscure soul records?... The worst thing is as a business I pay PPL/PRS for a licence to play music ( and it aint cheap) so who gets that money? The artistes? Record companies?...Not sure if this is the right forum but I would like to hear from anyone who can shed light on this.

TIA
