Whatever happened to Jud..

Laid in bed self isolating decided to reminisce about the past. Seen lots of footage of people sadly no longer with us( Ray France etc) a lot of the  filming was done by Jud, does anyone know why he’s not putting up any new ones?

I know filming at soul events is a controversial topic but wondering if there’s no pictures/filming done anymore at events what memories will we have in another 20 years(if  we are still here ) of venues that we don’t attend.

I think he stopped videoing at events cause he was getting flack on YouTube from tossers with nowt better to do.

Jud’s video clips brought real enjoyment to many. One day, I hope he makes a comeback. Maybe the poster of YouTube clips should have sole editing rights to put the sad tossers out of business.

i used juds clips to do some homework for the following weeks trip    he is a big loss  but can understand it is a time consuming activity               he did some miles and filming forwarding the cause  though

He had been seriously ill for 2 years with various things just coming thru it now thou. He had stopped filming because he was getting so much shite chucked at him, mainly that he was only in it for the money which was a load of rubbish, lately he has been filming wild life

Thanks Ted for the update, I wish him well in his recovery.

My thoughts are that we are the losers here, he was doing a great job which preserved great memories.

Dont know the chap but seen him at Nuneaton a couple of times filming...a pleasant chap and certainly not intrusive...always interesting videos to watch unless you saw yourself and thought on god what a mess wish him well and there's no allowing for nob heads, there everywhere...Thank you...Rob

Jud used to be about at most venues. Never once did I see him being intrusive with his camera. Always saw it at hip height and focusing on the dancers. Shame he has stopped doing it. 

 Most folk on the scene are glad with the fact if wasn't for the likes of Glynis Elgey  etc at Wigan there wouldn't be any images of the fabulous times throughout the past years of Northern Soul.

On one of his final posts before stopping Jud said that he was fed up of all the stupid comments on Youtube and having to constantly delete them. Most have gone but it must have been tedious to see them over and over again, they were all idiotic - "gay", "mincers", "WTF" from morons who had no interest whatsoever in the scene. But it used to be the case that if you posted something on Youtube with comments enabled you couldn't then turn them off, just had to delete them.

They went firther than just abuse some began theatening with menacing comment  plus he best mate passed away he is still film making just nature ones really great camera work. Miss having chats with about filming &  records

It wouldn't be from people on the scene....has anyone ever watched something on you tube that you know nothing about and felt like you need to leave an abusive message??? I know Jud very well from being at the various venues were he was filming and others were he was not,

consider him to be a good friend,we have had lots of great chats over the years,lost touch and wondered

what had happened to him.

Thanks Ted for the update,sad and shocked that he has been through so much bad luck,no way does he

deserve any of it,my heart goes out to him and hope that everything is better in the future.

Jud is a top bloke,the type you would want as a mate,genuine through and through and salt of the earth,

hope i bump into him soon somewhere as i miss our chats and miss him filming the scene.

 

On a general note,the world is full of Tw**s who are ignorant and arrogant at the same time,

most have not got the intelligence to understand the concept of what Jud was trying to do,

but the Soul Family do and we will always be there for him whether he is filming or not.

There are many people who try to push you off the rails on our life rollercoaster ride,

push them out of the way and carry on.

Seeing Jud out and about a few years back, was actually assuring.  He captured some good nights, and if you saw him out, you knew you were at a fairly decent venue.  I can’t say the same for other snappers, strobing flash in your eyes and generally buggering up any decent vibe on the dance floor.

His material has well cemented a bona-fide period of the scene, and nobody - regardless of the flack he’s had – can ever take that away from him.

I think they seem to have changed YouTube too since because checking out a few of his videos just now there's no comments at all. Whereas once it depended on how it was set when you first posted it, it appears now that you can retrospectively turn off commenting. So the moronic comments have gone.
