...........an excellent tune new to me.

A Way To Love you - Shades Of Blue.

Usual questions folks........ever played out etc?

Great mid-tempo dancer IMHO.

I'd be bollocks(ed) without The Soulclub Jukebox.

Thanks Atom. thumbsup.gif

It's a great record. The Volumes also did a fantastic version of it too. Shades of Blue were desperately unlucky in the fact that Ed Wingate already had the Relections on his books. All the SOB records are worth listening to imo. Blue Eyed soul at it's best . They KNEW what they were recording , they set out to CREATE soul music that they were immersed in and surrounded by on a daily basis with Golden World, Impact , Edwin Starr, Duke Browner et al. Their success with Edwin's "Oh How Happy" financed a number of further 45s that went on to become classics. Full story in the current issue of There's That Beat!

Dave

There's one for sale on John Manships site, and there's a sound clip of both sides there. Joans right, why play a very inferior version when you can get the Volumes.

Thanks for posting both up BR. :shades:

Having had a good listen to The Volumes version I have to say that I prefer the Shades Of Blue.

Don't think that it's because this was the first version I heard, the Volumes is excllent also but I just think it's not as smooth as SoB.

I agree with Ken also, the Volumes version isn't as good a 'dancer' IMHO.
