Jerry Hipkiss Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Grapevine 107 - "Get him off my conscience", published by Chappell & co., also appears titled "Get it off my conscience", published by Jason Sean music. Same recording, obviously, but does anyone know which issue came first - and are there demos for both title variations? Hippo.

Hi Jerry I bought all three of these, via the Soul Bowl list in the 70's, at the time of their release. I realise that it doesn't answer your question, as the other label version could have been done first, or followed this release. Either way I have scanned them for Comparison. Get It Off My Conscience - The Lovelites - 5643 refosoul All Three have "Jason Sean Music" on the Credits. I hope that In some way this helps. My first assumption was that the first batch may have got the credits wrong, given that the song is incorrectly titled, and it is just a guess. The reason: If a later press required the change of credit from "Jason Sean Music" to "Chappell & co", would they then get the title wrong? but then ..... Having said that they do sing "Get Him Off My Conscience", could it be the other way around? Intriguing. Both titles appear on Manships site >>> Link <<< I wonder if John might know.
