(One of the most infectious dancers around)

Marshall & Chi-Lites - Price of love / Baby it's real - Dakar 600 WD M- £75

(I picked this up at the same time as Anthony & Delsonics on Emerge, and bar the obvious difference in rarity I couldn't separate either in terms of the highest quality of soul on each double sider.  I can't remember seeing a west coast release of this!)

 

Blanch Carter – Halos are for angels – GSF 6881 WD EX+ £100

(Early 70s upbeat femme dancer, original copy, minor edge lift)

Skyliners – Everything is fine – Jubilee 5506 WD M- £40

(Spare! Understated and subtly moody, a stunning group soul piece, which I always keep a copy of in my boxes)

Soul Twins – Quick change artist / Give the man a chance – Karen 1533 WD M- £300

(Monumental double sider from this top notch Detroit outfit stewarded by the one and only Ollie McLaughlin. “Give the man” does it for me, superbly crafted on a delightfully catchy beat, “Quick change” of course must have done something for the need for speed back in the day!

 

Eddie Holland – I’m on the outside looking in – Motown 1049 WD M- £125

(Wonderful motor city soul on an earlier label release. Feint ring wear)

 

Walter Jackson – After you there can be nothing – Okeh 7256 WD M- £40

(One of THE best beat ballads, emotion written all over it and hard to come by on demo)

Artistics – This heart of mine – Okeh 111809 WD M- £150

(Purple vinyl release with Ted Taylor – Stay away from me baby on the flip. Northern standard on the top side, one of the Okeh tunes you shouldn’t be without)

Velvelettes – Lonely lonely girl am I – V.I.P. 25017 WD M- £150

(Hard to find demo, and one of the best up-tempo girl group dancers from Jobete, one very light graze, DNAP)
