Not sure there can be any comeback as It doesn't state that it's an original ... or a bootleg so anyone with any sense should assume it's a boot unless claimed to be original and even then you should do your homework before bidding. 'Every minute there is one born' ... somehow thinking/hoping they're getting a bargain.  FFS an original goes for 4 times that amount!  rat / smell comes to mind!

The winning bidder had a ebay rating of 13541 .. so you would have thought they know what they were doing????

P.S. I don't even rate the record TBH ... can't stand popcorn!

I wonder what Paypal would say if someone claimed as "not as described" seems a bit of a Quandary that one with Ebay being against counterfeits apparently

Under distance selling laws it can be sent back within 14 days for any reason as the goods have not been seen live.

Should have said it’s a boot but his other things for sale tell enough of a story and add that to the fact they can’t even be arsed to grade them says it all. Amateur buyers amateur seller - match made in heaven.

In my experience ebay/Paypal generally sides with the buyer when there's a dispute even in 'buyer remorse' cases! ... as Jnixon states they can return it within 14 days ... impulsive buyers just waste everyone's time.  It doesn't look like the winning bidder made any other bids on it so perhaps bid at last minute without checking thinking they'd get it cheap.  To be fair to seller it did start at £5 and didn't state it was original so common sense would tell you it can't be an original when with a quick check on Discogs the median price for an original is £600 and the bootleg is also listed.

I just wonder when we say "common sense" it's easy when "you know what you know" through experience, how many buyers are new and lack knowledge or new to collecting

I have mentioned before at 14, I bought a Rufus Lumley, "I'm Standing" with my school dinner money, I never had any common sense or experience to know it was a bootleg (my wife says I have little common sense now) but 40+ years on I can tell a boot 😁

Ignorance, which is what their not stating either way most likely is or will at least be the excuse, is no excuse. But that does cut both ways.

If the buyer pays, Id imagine its just gonna be a payday loan.
