Popular Post Pete Fowler Posted January 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 27, 2020 I was asked over the weekend how to distinguish between the 3 different Sedgrick 45s (original [1], LP giveaway [2] & bootleg of the LP giveaway [3]). I know this has been discussed at length on here but thought I would describe the differences in pictures. Main points to note... A) Colour - [1] and [3] are similar but [2] is a lighter shade of orange B) Matrix numbers - as indicated C) Credits - Only [1] has "Wr & Prod J. Vanleer". The "&" is missing on [2] and [3]. Also, [3] wrongly spells "Vanleer" as "Van leer" D) Font - [2] and [3] attempt to replicate [1] but haven't quite got it right and consequently the length of the title "Cheatin Kind" on [2] is slightly shorter than [1] but [3] is quite a bit longer than [1]. E) Appearance - The "SEDGRICK" on [1] is printed closer to the edge of the label than [2] and [3], also both [2] and [3] have a brand new appearance. Hope this helps............ Pete 4

Woodbutcher Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 Think you'll find that the "machine stamp" on the boot is actually a dot-matrix when viewed close-up rather than a metal stamper impression.

Guest Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Surely the easiest way to tell the original is, you won`t get one for a tenner!
