Guest Tommy Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Hi everyone, I have a Bobby Womack acetate up on Ebay right now. I'm very interested to find out a bit more about it. It's a one-sided, two track, LP acetate. Track one "Runaway" is the track i'd like to find out more about. It's a brilliant 70's track with lots of potential. I put a lot of research into this record via the internet, and the only information i could find was on the "Games" track. This WAS issued. However i could not find any information on the good track "Runaway". So i'm betting it's un-issued (?). Going by the sound of it, this must have been recorded around the same time as "Home is where the heart is" (?). Does anyone have any information on the "Runaway" track? Here's a link to the auction. Sound clip is attached to the description: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:IT&ih=010 Thanks in adance for any help. Tommy.
Guest Baz Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 This would be massive at a oldies orientated venue Not really my cuppa............but Mr Womacks vocals never fail to deliver

To be honest, i don't collect 70's/ modern records as i've got enough on my plate collecting 60's (havent we all!), however i can appreciate a good 70's record when i hear one, and i must admit this one really got me going when i first heard it. Very interesting find, indeed. Tommy.

Guest Tommy Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I must be going mad, last time I looked at this I thought it had a bunch of bids on it. But it's showing none Don't worry Dave, you've not gone mad. ha-ha. Ebay withdrew it last week along with some of my other records (Celest Hardie, Sam Dees... etc), due to a item description error (a.k.a. i put "i accept cash, but send at your won risk" in the description, and apparently that's against Ebay policy). So i had to re-list it along with a few others, with the edited description.

That's what i figured. They do own paypal, so it would make sence. But apparently the bit they didnt like is "Send at your own risk". Apparently, they don't mind cash on the deal, as long as the buyer & seller meet up in person and exchange goods for cash (as if that's safer !!).

Hi Tommy Sounds like it's an outtake from his time on Beverly Glen records definately later than "Home is where the heart is" totally different production/sound on it. Nice nice track Derek
