I've got the tune in my head from verse to chorus and still can't think what it is. I know it's very well known. Somebody help me please? I'm going to kick myself. 1

Sunnysoul Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Fantastic new release in the last few days from two legends of soul ... 2
Guest Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Talking of Charlie Wilson here is a new video he's done for Covid-19 relief. He's put a new vocal at the beginning and at the end When I was young Eagle (as opposed to the clipped version these days) this was one of those tunes that my wife and I just loved - outstanding. It had to be the Gap Band version and not Kenny Thomas.
Mike Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 just added this to our store billed with a release date of November 6 but we do have it in stock and available via our store right now https://www.soul-source.co.uk/store/product/123-brenda-boykin-love-is-in-town-one-world-records/ 1

Mike Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 released earlier this year and is avail via our own store but... a new video makes an excuse for another listen 2
Guest Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 Followers of Lowrider soul will love this 45''. It's a gorgeous Chicana ballad that is a treasure to play. The 45 is slightly longer than the video. Available on Bandcamp from Mango Hill records in various pressings.

The tune is pleasant enough but completely unremarkable ... like a 3rd rate out-take from Amy's Back To Black LP. Amy was great and a one of a kind but she's been gone almost a decade now and Back to Black was released 14 years ago. Where are all the vocalists trying to forge their own, original style ? Not meaning to be negative, just trying to give some honest, constructive comment here, so please keep posting these new releases Rick , there have been some memorable ones on this thread

But this single is gorgeous and the a side Look Around has a wonderfully subtle build from a very gentle downbeat start to a powerful and dramatic build towards the end. Been on my turntable everyday since it arrived!
