Right up there with the best for me. Visual grade: VG+ to EX €1000 Ray Charles – Hey now / Baby won’t you please come home – Swing Time 297 First, rarest and most collectable 45 from one of the giants. Only found one recorded previous sale of this fro back in 2014. Visual grade: EX €500 Dan Kirby – Treatment / Only for today – Young Generation Completely unknown Carolina garage 45. Only known copy as far as I’m aware and a pretty cool one too. Visual grade: VG, slight warp NAP €325 D.J. Thomas – Go ahead on / But someday – Ibis 45-365 DJ Copy R&B monster that has been overlooked for many years but is finally catching on during the last couple of years. Surface marks but it’s a strong pressing and plays very nicely. Visual grade: VG- €300 Blood Transit – Love makes a better world Pt I/II – M-I-C 006 Very much under the radar driving Florida funk mover Visual grade: Strong VG+ soundfile: clyp.it/ipqdejlp €175 The Interpretations – Jason Pew Mosso Pt I/II – Jubilee 5714 DJ Copy Funk breaks 45, featuring on the legendary Brainfreeze mix. Visual grade: VG+ €150 Mickey Champion – Wait for me / My troubles are ended – Lilly 45-509 DJ Copy Super obscure Cali doo wop R&B that never shows up, let alone in this condition. Not positive but I o think this is the same Mickie Champion that later recorded the Northern classic on Musette. Visual grade: M- soundfile: clyp.it/ipqdejlp €150 Billy Williams – Backtrack / Too much – Romark 107 Cool instrumental dancer on the legendary Kent Harris label. Does not show up very often. Visual grade: VG+ to EX €125 Pat Hodges – Ain’t watcha got / My man, my man – HME 56928 Gritty sister funk killer from the James, Smith & Crawford Hodges Visual grade: M-, slight warp NAP €120 Storm’s – Save me / Answer me – Audiodisc Acetate Gritty R&B dancer that never made it past the acetate phase so I guess this might be a one-off Visual grade: VG- €120 The Mighty Elegant – I find myself, falling in love with you / I don’t know what it is, but it sho is funky – Jaber 7115 Essential sweet ballad with a bass-heavy funk flip. Visual grade: M- €120 Village Crusaders – Akiwawa / Hashishi – Trans-American 0008 Cali funk 45 featuring some of the most crisp drum breaks ever to be put on wax. Stunning copy. Visual grade: EX to M- €100 Original Concept – Can you feel it? / Knowledge me – Def Jam 2308 DJ Copy Classic old-school Rick Rubin production, sought-after on a 45. Comes with matching Def Jam sleeve. Visual grade: VG+ €85 Len Watson – Dancing with your memory / Tennessee waltz – Coral 62397 DJ Copy Mid-sixties popcorn staple Visual grade: Strong VG+ soundfile: clyp.it/ipqdejlp €80 Emma Atkins – I want a man / Lonely girl – Delta 0003 Sparse Louisiana deep soul that’s still very much under the radar. Visual grade: VG to VG+, slight warp NAP soundfile: clyp.it/ipqdejlp €80 Earl Craig – Craig’s crazy boogie / Sunday down south – Dominion 1010 Rockin’ Virginia instrumental from 1959. Just about impossible to find in this condition. Visual grade: EX €80 Tony Borders – For my woman’s love / Please don’t break my heart – Quinvy 002 One of many beautiful deep soul 45s on Quin Ivy’s imprint. Super clean copy. Visual grade: M- €80 The Emeralds – Baby you’ve got me / Promises – King 45-6078 R&B / Northern dancer in beautiful condition. Little bit of wol on flip side. Visual grade: M- €70 Ruth Brown – Sure ‘nuff / Here he comes – Atlantic 45-2088 DJ Copy Mid-tempo popcorn R&B fingersnapper. Nice clean demo copy. Visual grade: EX, slight warp NAP €65 Gayle Joya – I don’t want your kind of lovin’ anymore / Make me aware – Soultex 104 Smokin’ sister funk 45 on the highly collectable Texas imprint Visual grade: EX €60 Leon Eason – I’m in the mood for love / Lazy river – Blue Note 45-1745 Stunning 45 only vocal soul-jazz Visual grade: Strong VG+ €60 Ella Fitzgerald – Ringo beat / I’m fallin’ in love – Verve 58123 German original of an R&B staple that’s being played at 33rpm on the popcorn scene (and sounding great too!) Visual grade: VG+ €55 The Fantoms – Junk / Get a little bit – Power Funksion 10002 Blunted Nola funk breaks 45 Visual grade: VG+, storage warp €50 Charlie Palmieri – Uptight / Bugulu – Atlantic 45-2384 Latin boogaloo on a demo copy (which is vinyl unlike a lot of the issue copies) Visual grade: EX, slight warp NAP €50 The Deltas – Work song / My own true love – Philips 25036 DJ Copy Pure popcorn version of this classic. Plays well above grade. Visual grade: Strong VG €45 Artistic Sounds – Give it up / Just be strong – Savoy 4370 Late 70s gospel funk with a message Visual grade: VG to VG+ €45 Ben Sharon – Cotton pickin’ chicken pluckin’ shame / It seems this happened before – Dot 45-15779 R&B mover, plays way above grade. Visual grade: Strong VG €40 Alpha-Omega Singers – There’s a man upstairs / I am Alpha and Omega – Peacock 5-1806 Largely unknown funky gospel mover. Possibly unplayed when I found it but has a bit of a haze causing background noise during first rotations. Visual grade: EX, slight warp NAP €40 Spot & The Blotters – Circulating / Soul circle – Equal 459601 In-demand funk 45. Mint surface but a wee bit of label wear. Visual grade: M- €35
