(Perfect Northern outing from this traditionally doo-wop / rock and roll group, proving its quite often the case that big artists catalogues include at least one release with Northern appeal.  Smashing stock copy)

 

Earl Jackson – Soul self satisfaction – ABC 11142 WD M- £750 SOLD

(Same comments as JT Rhythm sold previously, how likely are you to find an immaculate copy in 2019, and the flip “Looking through the eyes of love” is ripe for pushing for the shufflers.  Conservative grading!)  

 

Jeanette Williams – Something’s got on me hold on me – Back Beat 587 Ex+ £300

(Off the top of my head I can’t think of many girls from Texas that had a label run like JW did, great frenetic up-tempo dancer)

 

Ray Marchand – Your ship of fools – Dore 763 Vg++ £550

(Always been a rare label number, and what a track, it is a really good player even though the vinyl has some marks, the lead in has some pops, a couple further through the play surface, but nothing to overwhelm and enjoyable audio experience.  Labels show some discolouration round the edges)

 

Tamiko Jones – I’m spellbound – Golden World 40 WD Ex £225

(Stunning vocals on this catchy Detroit dancer.  Light sleeve marks, do not affect play, which is M-)

 

Carstairs – It really hurts me girl – Red Coach 802 M- £100 SOLD

(In amongst all the earlier Northern here, this cultured 70s dancer from reigns the pace and style back in again, gorgeous dancer)

 

Gladys Knight & the Pips – No one could love you more / Take me in your arms and love me – Tamla Motown 864 Green Demo M- £300

(Stunning copy, centre intact and the bonus of 2 dance floor fillers with differing appeal, what’s not to like)
