Like Pete, I'm waiting for a couple of things, and I'm amazed how cheap they were, especially as I had been searching for one for a few months.

I dont think it was an official release, I seem to remember it being a 7" with 2 tracks on the other side? I also seem to remember a white vinyl copy as well?

I plumped for the 12' with 10? tracks on it, including this one and other un-released Detorit stuff but cant remember label name

Thats nice, thanks, partly the same pic as American LP inside the gatefold I think, single is different, and thats beige (or yellowed white paper, dependent on your perspective).

I was going to have a go at that Harrison Brothers but didn't in the end, mainly due to lack of readies.

My recent arrivals are:

OC Smith - Easy Street - Columbia issue (evidently hard on issue?)

Betty Lavette - I'm Holding On - Big Wheel

and waiting for:

Willie Tee - First Taste of Hurt - Gator

Ruth Brown - Mama, he treats your Daughter mean

Players - Why Did I Lie - Minit (now got an issue and a demo so will be selling one - which is the rarer?)

Chuck Jackson - I don't want to cry - wand

Cheryle Thompson - Don't Walk Away - Vee-Jay (very strange record)

Cheers

Cheryl Gray - You don't love me anymore..

Crackin tune that Mischief, well done.

Remember that being Rev Tony Clayton's big tune for a while at Leicester, I pestered him for months (even wrote to him!) to sell it but he just wouldn't part with it.

Bought it a few years later and it still has pride of place.

My best buy this week is Edward Hamilton - My Darlin Baby on Mary Jane.

Happy New Year,

John.

Harrison Bros/Music minus two is a very under-rated tune in my opinion. Great - best of all the versions. First got one of these from John Manship at Cleethorpes.Think Dicky from Manchester still has my old copy. Put one back in the collection last year from a guy in Japan at what I thought was a steal of a price. Rarer than a lot of people think.

Well 2007 has started off pretty good for Johnny Mack, amongst a host of others :

Jades - Love I love You - Imperial DJ

Jr Walker - Good Rockin - Harvey DJ

Norman Brown - Everybody Likes it - SoundTown

Chaumonts - When U Love - Bay Sound

Spyder Turner LP for $3.99 !!! Terra Shirma majik !!

Sunny & Sunliners - If I Could - RPR

Happy searching folks :P

Over Christmas was a good time to buy, i picked up about ten or so 45s over a week or so off ebay (not many by some people's standards) but favourites were:

Carol Fran - Any day love walks in - Port

Masters of Soul - Sad face - Ovide (well i like it :P )

Maxine Brown - Put yourself in my place - Wand (the best of the slow ones imo)

also The Gems - Can't you take a hint, which i haven't heard for twenty years but keeps running through my head from time to time.
