Guest Shufflin Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 this is great for people in bands who just want to get a record made, or vanity projects, but yep it could be a bootlegger's dream unfortunately wonder if it allows matrix stamping lol
Woodbutcher Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 Well if it works OK I might just treat myself to one ... Gotta be a better bet than trying to find a complete and working Neumann lathe for less than £30,000 ...
Chalky Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 These are nothing new, Vestax used to make one, it was at the start of the carver craze, was £7k or summit like but only 7p per disc.

It was over ten years ago and "new" to the market. I guess with proper production and advancements in tech it would be a lot cheaper to make today. It cut what we know as vinyl carvers and I guess a few people set up with them. Edited October 11, 2019 by Chalky 1

Benji Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 ok, didn't know that. Article says 10" so I assumed it can't cut other formats.
