Frankie Crocker Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Not sure what has happened, but when I try to check the bidding profiles of bidders competing for records I am interested in, no information pops up. Has eBay changed the settings to deny bidders insight into who is competing for a particular record (or anything else)? Any confirmation would be appreciated.
stevefrost Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 yes, I think this changed a couple of years ago but you can still see an edit version eg a 6Ts anniversary single is currently £205 (eerrr !) so I looked at the bidders , looks like someone is trying to ramp the price given the last 2 bidders have no & 9 feedbacks 1
Stevegods Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Yes , they changed it rightly or wrongly , nearly 3 years ago. I also saw the last two bidders on the 100 clubs 40th anniversary single ... very doggy . 1
Woodbutcher Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 But if you hit the "Automatic bids" button you'll see the top two bidders more accurately ... 1
Frankie Crocker Posted September 25, 2019 Author Posted September 25, 2019 Thanks for the responses. I should have explained further. When you clicked on the bidder’s ID code, it used to show how many items the bidder had contested in the previous 30 days. Now, there seems to be no response when you click on the coded ID. Not sure if this is an eBay change or have I mucked up some settings?

Explain it to me please. It just looks like two people going mad bidding against each other. 3***9 has automatic bids in up to £200 and l***t wants it too. Or am I missing something ?
stevefrost Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Every year, I get my freebie the check to see the panic buying over the next few days . But after a few months sanity returns and prices fall to £25-35.
Frankie Crocker Posted September 25, 2019 Author Posted September 25, 2019 Just tried again to view a bid history. There is an option to tell eBay what you think, perhaps because of some innovation. So, it looks like they have changed the format so you can not tell the bidding patterns of individuals such as withdrawn bids, number of bids per item etc. To some extent, this masks dodgy bidding patterns but I think it could be down to eBay simply reducing the amount of data flowing through the system. I always thought this was a very useful feature and already I’m missing it. 2

However, if I log-in via ebay.com, I can see those details about bidders as before. That's the case when I use both Chrome and Edge. Give it a try. Good Luck. 1 1
carlos63 Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 This Is my partners copy, obviously we dont need two,,so put one for sale , i saw it this morning and was gob smacked. was expecting nowhere near this. Am i likely to encounter problems with these new ultra keen bidders?

Just tried your suggestion and I get what I want. Funny that eBay.co.uk keeps you in the dark... 1
