From the Walden Artists and Promotions estate. Performance booking contract (AGVA # 96106) for a series of My-June 1966 appearances at the Howard Theater, Washington DC . Outlines the artist fees, deposit, terms and conditions, and rehearsal times. The appearance is during the peak of his Sound Stage 7 career, and dated the same year as his "Soul in His Music, Music In His Soul" LP for the Nashville label, and of his recording of "As Soon As Darkness Falls". This item consists of the original contract, an office carbon copy, two riders referring to limitations placed on the artist for appearances elsewhere during the contract period, and a third rider confirming the deposit requirement and venue / dates. The documents are in very good condition, in all a well preserved package. Jimmy Hughes (Fame Records) - original 1966 performance contract (Most Club, Pompano Beach, Florida). From the Walden Artists and Promotions estate. Performance booking contract for a January 1966 appearance at the Most Club, Pompano Beach, Florida. Outlines the artist fees, deposit, terms and conditions, and rehearsal times. The contract represents the time when Jimmy Hughes was under Rick Hall at Muscle Shoals, and three months prior to the release of "Neighbor, neighbour" on Hall's FAME label, which reached #4 in the R&B charts. Mel and Tim (Stax) - original performance contract (Dallas, Texas). From the Walden Artists and Promotions / Paragon estate. Contract (AGVA registration # BC 53421) for an appearance by Mel and Tim at the State fair Coliseum, Dallas, Texas. Performance date June 1973. Package consists of original contract and a deposit rider, outlining fees, deposit, venue details and terms and conditions. The contract date coincides with their second recording year at Stax, when they were actively releasing 45s.
