Soul / R&B artists performance contracts, to press releases, programme flyers and original concert programmes are currently being offered for sale. Bettye Swann and band - original performance contract signed by artist (Pensacola, Florida).

From the Walden Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. Performance booking contract for Bettye Swann, for a January 1973 appearance at Abe's 506 Club, Pensacola, Florida. Outlines the artist fees, deposit, terms and conditions. The contract represents the time when she  recorded for Atlantic, and also around the time when her Money 45s were picked up by Nashville's Abet for re-release. This package contains the original contract and a rider for deposit. Both pages signed by the artist.

 

Otis Clay - original performance contract signed by artist (National Guard Armory, Georgia).

From the Waldon Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. An original performance booking contract (AGVA #BC 43248) for an appearance by Otis Clay at the National Guard Armory in Georgia . Performance date March 1973. Details of show times, fees, terms and conditions, and deposit requirements are referenced. This contract is from Clay's period at Hi records in Memphis, and when he appeared on Soul Train. The document is in very good condition, and consists of the original top copy, three office carbon copies, and three riders describing deposit and times. All documents are signed by the artist himself. 

 

Clarence Carter - original 1972 performance contract (Peacock Lounge, Goldsboro, North Carolina).

From the Walden Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. Performance booking contract for Clarence Carter, for a July 1972 appearance at The Peacock Lounge, Goldsboro, North Carolina. Outlines the artist fees, deposit, terms and conditions. The date of the performance falls just after his last release for Atlantic. Signed on behalf of Clarence Carter by Rogers Redding (Otis Redding's brother) who was part of the staff at Paragon at the time. This package contains the original contract, three office carbon copies and three and three rider copies for deposit.

A 16-page illustrated concert souvenir from the Four Tops' UK tour, during their post Motown, Dunhill-ABC period.
