Joe Simon - original 1966 performance contract (Macon, Georgia venue)

From the Walden Artists and Promotions / Paragon estate. Contract (AGVA reg. # 96256) for an appearance by Joe Simon at an undisclosed Macon, Georgia venue ("to be arranged" at time of booking). Performance date June 1966 (two shows). Package consists of original contract outlining fees, deposit, venue details and terms and conditions. 

The contract date coincides with Joe Simon's tenure at the Nashville label Sound Stage 7, within months either side of the releases of "Travelin' Man" and "The Girl's Alright With Me".

 

Johnnie Taylor - original 1967 performance contract (Club Bali, Ocalla, Florida)

From the Waldon Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. An original performance booking contract (AGVA #107235) for an appearance by Johnnie Taylor at the Club Bali, Ocalla, Florida. Performance date May 1967. Details of venue location, rehearsal and show times, fees, terms and conditions, and deposit requirements are referenced. This contract is from Johnnie's early Stax period when his 45 releases were particularly prolific.

 

Candi Staton - original performance contract (Columbus Memorial Stadium, Columbus, Georgia)

From the Waldon Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. An original performance booking contract (AGVA # BC 52469) for an appearance by Candi Staton at Columbus Memorial Stadium, Columbus, Georgia. Performance date April 1973. Details of venue location, rehearsal and show times, fees, terms and conditions, and deposit requirements are referenced. The package consists of the original contract, and a rider with details of deposit and show times. Both documents are signed by the artist.
