Speedlimit Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Always been a hard tune to get but £2500 wtf get real people. Great record but is it really worth that much.
Blackpoolsoul Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 (edited) The last copy I watched closely was 9 years ago which went through Pat Brady for £1000 I agree with you as it is a record I would only bother with if I was 12/13 again in another life, but lots of folks love it so there we are Edited September 4, 2019 by Blackpoolsoul
Davlee Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 only one Real copy on Popsike sold back in 2004 for £665. Always loved the simplicity of the production.

Great record but is it really worth that much. If you go back to the 80s,you could easily obtain a copy of Maurice Williams for £5 whilst a copy of Donna King,if you could find one, would cost £20. So pro rata may be 2k would be about right. Chris. 1
Frankie Crocker Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 A great tune. Hardly any copies in existence. Hundreds of collectors would be delighted to own it. No chance of old store stock turning up in New Orleans. This is the sort of record auctions were devised for. Might go as high as 4K depending on which two DJ’s have the cash.
Winsford Soul Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 (edited) As already mentioned. Always been a really tough one. Think I've only ever seen one in a sales box in 44 years of going nighters and that was back in the 80,s. Can't remember what the price was though. Something in my my head is saying £80 could be totally wrong Even the boots of this have disappeared Steve Edited September 6, 2019 by Winsford Soul
Chalky Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Its a keeper for those who have it that's why it is rarely for sale. There are copies out there though.

Wheelsville1 Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Whilst reading the description of Donna King on j. Manships site,he credits the lyrics to Roger Washington. Is it more likely to be Raymond Washington(aka guitar ray)as he had several releases of his own on Hot Line. Chris.

I couldn`t help myself from telling him it was an original and worth a lot more.

Steve Foran Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 I nearly always end with Donna King. FYI John Manship said somewhere that he had loads of Gerri Hall compared to DK.
Glyn1957 Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 yes he did that was the quote in the recent auction for donna king
