Clarence Carter - original 1972 performance contract (Woodruff, South Carolina) From the Waldon Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. An original performance booking contract (AGVA # BC 33846) for an appearance by Clarence Carter at the National Guard Armory, Woodruff, South Carolina. Performance date September 1972. Details of show times, fees, terms and conditions, and deposit requirements are referenced. This contract is from Carter's period at Atlantic The Van Dykes - original 1966 performance contract (Brevoort Theatre, Brooklyn NY). From the Walden Artists and Promotions estate. Performance booking contract (AGVA # 106444) for a July 1967 appearance at the Brevoort Theatre, Brooklyn. A number of R&B / soul orientated acts played this venue, including Motown, Scepter and Brunswick artists, before its closure by the end of the decade.The appearance was four months before their recording of "Save My Love For A Rainy Day" for Mala. Otis Clay - original performance contract ("The Club", Dawson, Georgia). From the Waldon Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. An original performance booking contract (AGVA #BC 43208) for an appearance by Otis Clay at a venue in Dawson, Georgia . Performance date February 1973. Details of show times, fees, terms and conditions, and deposit requirements are referenced. This contract is from Clay's period at Hi records in Memphis, and when he appeared on Soul Train. Eddie Floyd - 1967 original performance contract (Durham, North Carolina). From the Waldon Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. An original performance booking contract (AGVA #107600) for an appearance by Eddie Floyd at a venue in Durham, North Carolina. Performance date July 1967. Details of rehearsal and show times, fees, terms and conditions, and deposit requirements are referenced. This contract from Eddie's early Stax years is dated within a year either side of the releases of "Knock on wood" and "Raise your hand". Atco press release / bio - Mary Wells "Two Sides" Atco LP (1966). In-house US Atco press officer's bio, used to promotional copies of the 1966 LP "Two Sides of Mary Wells". Would be sent out with promotional copies of the LP to magazines and other areas of the music industry. Originally from the collection of Roy Carr, music journalist who joined the New Musical Express in the late 1960s and was later editor of the same publication, Vox and Melody Maker. Marquee Club Programme Flyers - May to August 1965. Set of four programme flyers for the Marquee Club in Wardour St., London for dates May to August 1965. Each highlights events and news on one side, including the announcement of a visit from Solomon Burke for a June 1965 concert. Also lists appearances and dates for the respective month on the reverse. Nice piece for soul and 60s british R&B / jazz collectors, as well as a useful historical resource.
