sister dawn Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Just listening to a load of old tapes that has been recorded over the years One Track in particular Cowboys to Girls (First heard this when I was 19) now all this time I have been trying to find this track ... I have it by the embers and other copies but not by the version that I have on tape, which features a female vocalist as well as a male one. Anyone that can help me out on this will make a soul girl very happy, as in all these years I have never found the one that I really wanted. It was a big play at the palais in the early 8ts, specially by smiffy ....

sister dawn Posted January 1, 2007 Author Posted January 1, 2007 I have both the Intruders and sweet blindness ones but it aint either of them, this one on the tape they do sort of a duet style with it, some one mentioned Gene Chandler did a take of it too which I havent heard, nor have I heard the philly cream version yet if someone has a clip of the chandler one and the philly cream one too i would be grateful. xxxxx
Mike Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 dont think one your after but the search will take ya to commordores instru version and the gene chandler (just wack cowboys in box)
Guest Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 sister dawn.. just played both the gene chandler and philly cream versions.. the gene chandler version is on the "there was a time" lp..its a reasonable enough version but not a duet.. the philly cream version is a duet..starts with male vocal then female vocal takes over.. it was released in 1980 on w.m.o.t. ... uk copy number is WMT 101.. sounds like this may be the version you are looking for.. sorry i cant let you hear it,as its a tad difficult without a computer.. bless jc the messiah of northern soul

Mike Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 ask if uploading mp3s can you use the "add clip" its quicker and easier to upload it automatically converts mp3s to a site friendly format once up in future its easy to find, and as links to your original post may get some discussion going ta mike "new clip" shows at bottom of every thread
