Was there a US or anywhere 7" release before 1976 (b-side of 'Born Again')?

It was popular in New York clubs before that but I assume off the LP?

Only I have just picked up this Brazilian 7" from 1972..

Only the Brazilian 45 from what I’ve seen

There is also a 7" release of this on the Collectables label in the U.S.A. with Can I as the other side, I have one. Can't find a release date for it though, it's probably later than 76.

Yes. Got one of those myself. According to Discogs, Collectables started in 1980.

It states ℗1972 on some USA 45 issues even though it's a 1976 release, probably that's when the writer first published it.

Edit -  After looking around i think yours actually was released in 1972, the release number is close to these

Thanks. Yes, the US one is 76. Was fairly sure the Brazilian one I've got is '72: both sides off, 'People..Hold On' LP. Hadn't seen those other releases though which confirm it. Evidently, someone had a good ear at Motown's Rio de Janeiro outpost! (....or would it have been in Brasilia?)

Plays at 33, incidentally and wacky Brazilian Motown company sleeve! Love oddball releases like this.
