scotchmartin Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 What's the connection between them? Well, Bill Bush. I recently visited Bill in the States and found out that not only was he in the Fabulous Carousels but that it was more or less this group that made up 'Little Johnny Clark' (a made-up name) which cut the grinding (get it..!) Black Coffee b/w Now Now Now on Sherwood, currently receiving well deserved plays for both sides. The singer is actually Bobby Ship with Bill on piano and harmonica. The line up of the Fabulous Carousels (Town House 108) was: Rocky Nelson on Drums (played drums on "I'm Waiting"), Joe Auenson on sax: Lloyd Radcliffe on bass: Bill Bush on piano: Van Norman on geetar: Bobby Ship, vocals: Louis Melancon on trumpet (now plays drums and trumpet with Bill Bush Combo). The current sax player in the Bill Bush Combo is James Stewart, who played sax with Eddie Giles (Murco, Custom Sound) on Loser Boy, Sexy Lady, etc. in the 60s. So there's the Bill Bush Combo family tree to add to the archives. Any questions about BBC or related Ronn, Jewel, Paula topics welcome. Also, any questions for Stan Lewis and I'll pass them on. pow wow mik Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 (edited) So much for Bill Bush being just an alleged white supper club jazz act. "now now now" is as hard grinding R&B as it gets, been playing it since the late 90s. Will never forget dancing next to Bill to his own track with you playing it in GLasgow that time. Fantastic. It's Mik, Mikey & Paul's mate from Sheffield by the way, how you doing? Been wondering where you and your top tunes been....Happy New Year pal Edited December 30, 2006 by mik parry
