On Jan 5th - the track with the best rating will be the winner and be the members choice for The Sound of 2006

How to nominate - simple either upload a clip of the track in this thread (in the upload form pleases choose the "sounds of 2006" category or post by using the "cut and paste" (see below if not sure)

as said do ask give a brief word why and please limit it to one choice!

Voting - Will start on Jan 2

each member can vote/rate any track

Rules - nothing too complex, all a bit of fun, nominations by Jan 2

Thats all

----------------------------------------------------------

or via browsing refosoul

once found click the comments.gif

and info will show what to copy and paste to post clip

Not sure if this is gonna work as it's the first tune i've copied & pasted from refosoul but if it doesn't work i was trying to paste up Calvin Grayson - You've got to be willing.

Never heard of this up until a couple of months ago, proper driving NS dancer, the sort of stuff that should be played on dancefloors imo & if anyone has a copy for sale at a reasonable price, let's talk business!

This is my nomintaion for 2006....close call between this and GiGi but this shades it because it takes us into 2007 with a brand new track!

1783 refosoul The Spidells "Pushed Out Of The Picture"

Heard from an old Stafford tape, Guy Hennigan played this under C/U and I didn't know who the artist was. Me mate Marco "Inge" posted a thread on here, and finally we discovered they're the Spidells. Bought the record for a very good price, and now is one of my usual spins...

thanks for all nominations so far

quick couple of things

quickest way to find a track is use the search feature (box at the top of every page when logged in)

the clips search results show at the bottom , hit more results if not there

(a search specfic box will be added to refosoul shortly)

voting/rating will only start/count once the noms are closed

cheers

This is my favourite clip of the year, posted by Pikey's Dog in one of the R&B Wednesday threads.

Reduced me to behaving like a teenager again, only the day before i got a copy i had been moaning at my son for playing some terrible tune of his over & over again ! & then i go & stick this one on the deck 6 times on the trot ! Needless to say i recieved an ear bashing from my son !

Superb piece of R&B !!

Hi Roccia,

Tis indeed a bit pricey but then quality is expensive!

Looking to pay about £400, think that's about a fair price from what i've been told.

Really like your choice btw, Spidells, class tune!

"the one that stopped you in yer tracks"

"the one that will always remind you of ..."

"the one that sums up 2006.."

and so on

Great sound this Kev... we've all been giving this some hammer at SoN and DDA the past few months.

First spun by Gary Spencer in the late 80s early 90s if my memory serves me correctly.... not yet its day.... maybe it will this year... here's hoping!
