Guest Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I suupose somehow this kind of thing is all to be expected now. https://www.spectropop.com/remembers/DanFolger.htm
Ste Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 from https://www.geocities.com/spikeopath/folgerdisco.htm Barbara Mills "You don't have to be in love" *Dan W. Folger Unreleased. bet this would have been nice. Way of the Crowd, all time classic imho. steve
Guest Bogue Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 'The Way Of The Crowd' is a big favourite of mine too. Rember mentioning it on here before, but it sadly came in for a bit of a slagging as 'white pop rubbish' from some quarters. I still reckon it's a fantastic ender, & after reading the piece put up by Simon about Dan Folger's life, the lyrics now become all the more poignant ! R.I.P Dan

R.I.P Dan White, maybe, but still good enough for the TYMES (black group!!!!!!) to do a version on their 'People' L.P
Ste Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 posted a soundfile earlier in year of Tymes version, few downloads bt no comments about it if i remember correctly. certainly grew on me, great version. steve
Guest Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 I'm going to check it out now...never heard it!
Ste Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 here again for you Simon.tymes___way_of_the_crowd.mp3
Guest Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Cheers Ste...nice version. I like the Tymes. Dan's version is a bit more showbizzy/melodramatic with it's big beat ballad strings but this one allows the song to come through a bit more I think.

R.I.P Dan I'm not a usual fan of blue-eyed soul but The Way of The Crowd is one of my all time favourite beat ballads/enders. It's just Real Soul! Fantastic!
