From Chicago, on Penny records shouldn't cost you more than 20, used to be a "tape sound"
Drew3 Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 From Chicago, on Penny records shouldn't cost you more than 20, used to be a "tape sound" Thanks Tony. Sorry for being thick, I'm not familiar with the expression "tape sound" What is it? KTF. Drew.
Mark Bicknell Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Hi Drew, I think Tony means it's a tune that has done the rounds when people share tapes, like a collectors thing, you do me a tape and i'll do the same kind of thing. Fantastic record which has had the odd spin on the show over the past six years, alway's used to be a five pound record, however i've seen it listed for sale recently for fifty quid, Tony's valuation is about right but i reckon you will have to part with at least thirty to fifty for a copy, the flip is awesome down tempo 'Never More'....tune!!! Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Guest in town Mikey Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 (edited) From Chicago, on Penny records shouldn't cost you more than 20, used to be a "tape sound" I have a couple of Penny tracks at home. Being from Chicago, would this label have anything to do with Penny Pendleton? Or have I got my Chicago and Detroits mixed up again? She wrote and produced some tracks on Dee Dee. Drew3 Posted December 29, 2006 Author Posted December 29, 2006 Hi,Played this tune early doors at Novembers Denton British Legion.Ask me for it if your in tomorrow night. Steve Was at the Denton November night Steve but didn't get there until after 10pm so missed it. Going on the pop with a few guys this afternoon/evening so may not be there tonight. That said, I'll probably get fed up of buisness talk and watching guys who are old enough to know better trying to pull women young enough to be their grandchildren!! Hope its a good night for everyone who is there. My first two have been belters. KTF. Drew.
