Crumb Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I bought a record from Belgium on ebay a few days ago and paid with paypal. I've just had an email from the seller saying his paypal account isn't working and can I pay it to another email address instead, for "services". He's got 98 per cent positive feedback with just 2 negative. I've cancelled the original payment, should I send one to the new address or not ? Thanks Crumb
Paul Dunn Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Your a brave man if you do. The only problem I have ever experienced with ebay is with a Belgium chap. so I am very carefull not to deal with anyone in Belgium now. I have no doubt that not all the people of Belgium are bad, but be carefull. How about asking him to send the record first and you send payment on recieving it. Kind regards Paul
shute Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Hi Crumb Speak to ''miss popcorn'' Linda......... she has a lot of dealings with the Belgium sceen and I bet she would be able to assist in who's who shute
Crumb Posted December 27, 2006 Author Posted December 27, 2006 Thanks Paul & Shute. I've bought records from Belgium before & never had a problem but I am aware of their reputation, thats why I'm wary now. Cheers Cumb
Guest NASHEE Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 who was the seller?....pm me if you would rather let me know privately best Linda

Larsc Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 This doesn't sound right. If you're going to go ahead with this transaction at least tell him to send you a new invoice through ebay. That way it will be possible to prove if you end up in trouble. And it will make it easier if you need to make a claim through paypal later.

Thanks Crumb You can always pay the seller when his paypal account is active again?? The fact that his account doesn't work is not your problem I suppose. Does the same seller has another account with Paypal for another email address?? If so, you are protected by Paypal for the transaction anyway...so what's the problem?? my experience with Belgian sellers is excellent, never had any problems whatsoever...
Crumb Posted December 29, 2006 Author Posted December 29, 2006 Thanks for the advice, her paypal account is working again. I'll let you know when (if) I get the record. Cheers Crumb
Crumb Posted January 5, 2007 Author Posted January 5, 2007 Got my record today, well pleased with it I suppose I was being over cautious.

Hi Pleased you got your record mate, pays to be cautious though & thanks for bringing it to our attention. Just shows that there are some genuine sellers, unfortunately we need to share experiences with sellers from this part of the world, worth taking the time good, or bad, thanks.
