Some absolutely cracking Easter weekend sales to ponder, some 45’s relished with big reductions, so some really good bargains to be had here. I’ll update with photos later.

Absolutely brilliant more funky re-working of the earlier version by Bro Robert on the Blue label.

 

Mary Mundy - Electric Ghetto / Open Up Your Heart - Insurance City Records

Condition: VG+ to Ex condition (really nice gloss with some minor surface marks)

Price: £225

Brilliant 2-sider; one side is 70’s gritty uptempo funky soul and the other side is a brilliant deep soul cut.

 

Dean Francis - Tippin / Funky Disposition -  Hillside

Condition: Ex+ copy 

Price: £135

2 brilliant sides; one is is more straight-up funk and the other side is a fantastic uptempo moody sounding funky mod type soul with hammond. Doesn’t get much better for me.

 

Gospel Comforters - Praying Out Loud / Take Care Of Me - Black Giant Records

Condition: Ex with slight label ware (very slight warp DNAP)

Price: £100

Gospel funk rarity, seems to be a lot rarer than their one on Marcs label. Get past the spoken intro and then bang, those drums hit you, which sound great over a big system.

 

Bobbie Black - Faces In The Crowd / Sound Of Loneliness - Axis Enterprise Records

Condition: Ex (Lo-Fi Recording)

Price: £50

Same funky backing as Art Taurus/Artus Satterfield/Bobbie Black. I think this could be the rarest of the bunch.

 

Al Pinkston Jr - I Look I See / You’re Not There - Tra-Mo

Condition: VG+

Brilliant lo-fi sounding gritty funky soul 45, now picking-up plays. 

 

Dean Parrish - Skate - Boom

Condition: Ex+ in nice co sleeve (couple small marks)

Classic mod soul mover in lovely condition.

 

The Lewis Explosion - Start To Feelin Good Again - Pleasure

Condition: Ex (some light marks and bit of label ware as shown in photo

Banging uptempo feel good funky northern dancer.

 

Gene Willis - You’ll Get Yours / Just Keep On Trying - Hollywood (White Promo)

Condition: VG+ to Ex

Price: £35

Really good uptempo funky gritty r&b mover that’s had plays and fetched a lot more money than this.

 

Robert Anderson - Nobody But The Lord / - Good Shepherd 

Condition: VG+ (Labels have some weird green paint on one side and slight tearing on the other side.

Price: £20

Really good mid-tempo gritty bluesy gospel funk. I personally think this is an excellent 45 and not seen too many about for sale. Only selling as I picked-up a slightly better condition copy.
