Popular Post Karen Bedford
I cant believe the news I heard this morning. A lovely man who I so respected has been taken from us. I have lots of lovely memories of us three, Winnie, Panch and I in Rimini, in Corfu - dancing together. I would always be trying to get Winnie to dance with me, when stomping, he would but only for about a min, lol loved it when he did. He was a great dancer. Voice of Reason I called him. A funny, witty, intelligent soul man, who you could trust also. I hadn't seen him for a while, knowing he hadn't been well, but it was lovely to see him last Sat at Kettering Allnighter. So glad I did now. I would always ask 'where's winnie' when at certain soul nites that he had gone to before. Winston you dont know how much you will be missed by so many of us. I wish I told you how much I respected and admired you. You were such a lovely man and the Northern Soul Scene will be a much sadder place without you. RIP my lovely soul friend. Much love to you Karen x 4 Link to comment Social source share
Vynilhound
It's so sad to loose Winston, We all grew up on the scene together, Kempston Rovers, Wigan, Samanthas, Wirrina, De montforth Hall, St Ives, Yate, Kettering, etc etc, a true gentleman. Clever & articulate and a great loss to all who knew him and his family. It wont be quite the same again. sister dawn
One of our old guard is down!! So saddened to hear the news you're no longer with us Winnie (aka Sinbad) It was an honour and a pleasure to share many a dance floor with you over the years and I'm sure there will now always be a space left for you at the front where legends rightly take their place. God bless soul bro, time to give the brogues a well deserved rest now xxx 2 Link to comment Social source share

Biggordy
Gutted. When I first started going out and about in the late 90s I'd bump into Winnie often and like others have said, he was always taking newcomers to the scene under his wing and giving them a warm welcome. I haven't been out beyond local nights for some time now but we'd keep in touch on social media and he always had time for everyone and was only a message away when you needed someone to chat to. Rest Well Winnie. Link to comment Social source share
