Wheelsville1 Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 While trawling through the net,I came across an article from 2 years ago where George Kerr claims to have wrote and produced Edwin Starrs-i have faith in you.Is this so,as he is not credited in any way on the label.?
Andy Rix Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 (edited) It is true .. he put his wife's name on it for 'contractual' reasons Have you got a link to the article you could post ? Andy Edited March 14, 2019 by Andy Rix 1
Steve L Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Its true, George talked about it in his Q&A session at Blackpool a couple of years ago... 1
Wheelsville1 Posted March 14, 2019 Author Posted March 14, 2019 Hi Andy,it's in my top ten of all time and I've only just found this out.I suppose it's not particularly an article as such, but if you look under Edwin Starr I have faith in you and play it,George says it was him who wrote and produced it. The stuff he was behind is endless. Chris. 1

Wheelsville1 Posted March 15, 2019 Author Posted March 15, 2019 Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated. Chris.
Andy Rix Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 (edited) Jeannine Greer .... Maiden name ... As I recall George was signed to Jobete as a songwriter which was the contractual reason for putting his wife's name on it it was also why any arranger credits, as on the Maltese 45s, were attributed to Mr Lucky .. George 'in disguise' Andy Edited March 15, 2019 by Andy Rix 2
Wheelsville1 Posted March 15, 2019 Author Posted March 15, 2019 Looks like everybody was moonlighting from Motown at the time, musicians artists and song writers. Chris.
