Their career spanning four decades, the Pointer Sisters achieved mainstream success during the 1970s & 1980s and their repertoire has included such diverse genres as pop, disco, jazz, blues, soul, funk, country and dance.

The group began as a duo in 1969 when June and Bonnie began performing in clubs as a pair.  Shortly afterwards Anita joined them, followed by Ruth in 1974
