Chalky Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 No, CD only. Shake Hands With A Dreamer (William Weatherspoon-James Dean-Stanley McMullen) published Jobete 15-Feb-67 Jimmy Ruffin; recorded Hitsville-GW, completed 24-Jan-67 ; produced by William Weatherspoon, James Dean 12-Jan-04; CD (M): Motown 981 2006 Jimmy Ruffin - The Ultimate Motown Collection [UK]
Motownsoulman Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 (edited) No. It was recorded in January of 1967 and as far as I can gather was finally released by The Motown Corporation on the album, Jimmy Ruffin, The Ultimate Motown Collection in 2003. The only thing I've ever found about this song never being released sooner, was the fact that it didn't fit into his profile at the time, and that Motown wanted to repeat the success they had with What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted. Whether that's correct or not is a matter of opinion, but it certainly makes sense. Edited March 3, 2019 by MotownSoulMan
The Yank Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 (edited) You're both talking about the same thing! Both of you agree it was recorded in January of 1967( and published by Motown in February, 1967). You both agree it was released in 2003, the 2006 is part of the release # - 981 200 6 . Edited March 3, 2019 by the yank 1
