Soul-slider Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 (edited) Jackie Trent....best version. Len Barry close second. Lovin' Spoonful better than the other lame versions, at least the Spoonful's got a bit of Soul. Disappointed in the Sonny & Cher version, thought they'd do a better job because the backing track on 'Good Combination' is great and 100% Northern. Edited January 20, 2019 by Soul-Slider 1
Michael V Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 The Ronettes' great original the best for me,followed by Jackie Trent, Linda Scott and Len Barry. Looking forward to seeing Ronnie Spector & The Ronettes at the Roundhouse in London next Sunday 27th Jan.! 1

Soul-slider Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Just remembered another version that I actually have in my box by Colin Cook, and it's not a bad Aussie take! 2
DerekG Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Always like the version by Lovenotes (became Candy & Kisses) 3
Jazz Posted January 21, 2019 Author Posted January 21, 2019 Thanx folk didn’t realise there were so many thought I’d heard a female version and it’s not any of these very similar to Jackie Trent ?
Guest BabyBoyAndMyLass Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 As ever Ronettes for me! With the Mamas and Papas, are we talking about the same song? Not seen this clip before, Jackie Trent doing it on Morecombe and Wise, nice clip!
