Tomangoes Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Treat yourself to Johnny Manships rare record guide. Usually states whether DJ or issue is rarest.. Then make decision if you want rarity or the most dosh for selling the surplus vinyl etc. Check on eBay top sellers to see if anything you have is hitting a peak, and the sell high. Ed
davidwapples Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Keep the best conditioned one or sell the one you get most money for or trade whatever the person who has something you want asks for
Tiberius Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 As above, rarest format, best condition. This is OK unless there is some sentiment attached to one of your more common, lesser condition copies............in which case you may have to go for the option suggested by TattooDave.
Bitchdj Posted December 27, 2018 Author Posted December 27, 2018 Here is the thing the majority are rare...I have a recent manship guide...some are so pretty ( I like that) don't know if that's just a me thing. I am really aware that I am out of touch with prices having not been "out out" on the scene for a long while...I tag things on ebay and have a JCB ready to pick my jaw up off the floor when I see the end price of items I thought were relatively easy to find...I have also sold items on here through wants and flog me now I have asked the question "what is it worth may be persuaded" and parted with records for what I call silly money...am I holding on to a pile of shite or are my vast array of Ed hamilton on all format singles worth sixpence?
Tomangoes Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Put a list up on here and ask for offers. Supply and demand etc.. Or pay somebody a commission for selling on your behalf. Ed

Zoomsoulblue Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Dave - first a foremost for me it's a hobby not a business - secondary go through the does that mean anything to me - I brought a copy of the sweetest feeling at the casino it's cheap as chips yet I have memories although blurry of that evening - all my other copies I would sell - I've always found SS an excellent feed back from the guys giving opinions and approx what's it worth - what ever you do take you're time do a bit of research and bounce off the SS guys - failing that just ring JM up and ask him for advice / price - be lucky
Ezzie Brown Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 hi cookie, i been in your situation for a while...and have virtually stopped selling stuff as i had some frustrating protracted deals that went nowhere ..cant be arsed at the mo... i have no idea of current prices ,and it hurts to say goodbye to the best most cherished part of your collection wether valuable or not ,i try and sell to people who i know may want my records [ a small eccentric circle ,i admit] however not going out or being in the loop is a huge disadvantage, it seems condition is far more important to buyers these days..............it all seemed so simple before i stopped buying as selling funded buys , however once you find a new purpose for selling things you are not gonna replace with like 45s then its feels easier............but not much........... good luck making the choices...........ez
