Blackpoolsoul Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 (edited) I don't seem to be able to find out who were the members of the Triumphs on this site or the inter web (plenty of "what is my record worth?") There must be plenty of members who know (unless they are keeping it secret for another book release or I have missed another thread) Did they record for any other labels other than Okeh Edited December 21, 2018 by Blackpoolsoul
Tricky Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 The girl in the group is Delilah Kennebrew who went solo at Loma.

Chalky Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 I’ve read before that it was Delialah, cannot remember the source.
Woodbutcher Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Flipside to "Coming to your rescue" credits a D. Kennebrew as writer .
Blackpoolsoul Posted December 21, 2018 Author Posted December 21, 2018 (edited) What is now interesting and I hope you will agree, after some more digging this morning is the potential relationship here with the B. Goodman credit and this info Organ player Bennie Goodman went to LA on a gospel mission. Together with two of evangelist Bishop C.H. Whittaker’s sons, they formed the Triumphs. After Joe Westmoreland joined, and through the intervention of James Cleveland, the group was signed to VeeJay, just months after the label signed four Liverpool lads. Two Triumphs singles failed to catch on due to VeeJay's distracted promotional effort, and the group were gone. Edited December 21, 2018 by Blackpoolsoul

Tim Smithers Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Haha, I was asking you, if it is the same group, the one on Black Artists will be by far their rarest 45 for sure
