Guest Steve C Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 So, I'm listening to The Soul Sisters, Think About The Good Times ! Now, I'm more familiar with Baby Washington singing that track, but it got me thinking just who were the members of the Soul Sisters. I thought ok, Sue Records, maybe Baby W was lead for The Soul Sisters, but I listen to both tracks and to my (failing) hearing it really doesn't sound like her, she's deeper tonally than this lead vocalist, so who was it? Calling on one of those with encyclopaedic knowledge to help identify the vocalists known as the Soul Sisters.
John Reed Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 (edited) On the back of the LP it states they were Tresia Cleveland and Ann Gissendanner and were from Alabama and Pennsylvania respectively. Edited December 13, 2018 by John Reed
Guest Steve C Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 (edited) John, Thanks for that info . Once again, another example of a terrific voice that appeared and then disappeared without too much of a trace. Just goes to show a great voice is never just enough to guarantee success. Roburt Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 (edited) The group visited the UK a few times in the 60's & played quite a few club & theatre gigs ... tours here in 64, 65 & 67 .... They did a big UK theatre tour in 64 with Wayne Gibson, Spencer Davis Group & Manfred Mann. OF COURSE ... they toured right across the US for years too ... Edited December 13, 2018 by Roburt
