siffter Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Hi, Trying to ID a track I've known for some time but can't place it now on a search after hearing again at the weekend. It's a Rare Groove / Two Step which I believe to be called 'Free' by Mellea or a similar sounding group name. I thought a 45, possible LP only. Don't believe it's been re-issued or on a compilation anywhere. Thanks.

siffter Posted November 26, 2018 Author Posted November 26, 2018 Many thanks Alan, tried everything bar the double 'a' at the end!
Sutty Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 (edited) It was also bootlegged on a 12 which is an extended version https://www.discogs.com/master/view/1253561 I have the 7 and 12 and they both sound good, the 12 should be pretty cheap to pick up - but the other side of the 7 is also really good https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jajLTEwKICU&time_continue=76 cheers Sutty Edited November 26, 2018 by Sutty 1
Guest Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 I have the boot 12" and can confirm the timing of Mellaa is 5.38 and excellent sound quality. Whilst on the subject of Lanier & Co who feature on the flip of the boot, there is a good funk/boogie Lanier & Co track on a 45 B side from 1982 on Larc that is NOT on either of their LP's:
