would you say has been the biggest record over the years, You Fooled Me, Ten To One or Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Love? Which was massivest at the time and which has lasted the course best?

i reckon ten to one was his biggest , everything you always wanted still sounds good imo.

Ten to One, definitely...it's got the lot, it grabs you with that instant catchy chorus...the other two followed on it's coattails. You Fooled me is a pretty basic stomper but Everything You Ever must be one of the worst records ever played at Wigan. Someone shoot Alan Rhodes for this.

From a personal point of view, "Ten To One" holds a soft spot with me. But "You Fooled Me" has definitely stood the test of time and, therefore, his best all-rounder.

Should also be due some more recognition, given that there's a tasty female version being played by Des Parker at the moment - artsist and title escape me though.........

"Everything" has stood the test of time to me. thought it was a Richard spin, and Pete Smith you can blame me I was one of the kids asking for it to be played at T'Casino. Don't like his voice on "You fooled me"

i love 'ten to one' - it's the kind of odd quirky little number that only a soul fan could like. don't think it's stood the test of time too well though....but i still like it - proper northern

'Massivest'....Is this an actual word?! unsure.gif

'Ten To One' holds great memories, but prefer 'You Fooled Me'..great sax throughout!

sorry to be the dissenting voice, but I can't stand any of his records, I couldn't then either, they always had me running for a bottle of coke. as an answer to the question, I would say 'ten to one' would have been the biggest of the three.

it's to do with the voice I think. I have an issue with danny monday for the same reason. somebody call me a doctor...

The best by him surely is the other side of the Sounds of Memphis 45, "She's Not Momma's Little Girl Anymore", despite the creepy lyrics a fine production. Does anyone have any biographical info on him: was he a pop singer? was he black or white? is he still around?

Ten to One was the biggest in its day. You Fooled Me wasn't as big but for me has better vocals and Everything You Always Wanted was bigger than You Fooled Me but not a good. There you got could I be any less clear :shades:
