Sean Hampsey Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 heard PY play this last week on the motown show on jazz fm is it on a u.s 45? and im hoping its cheap, sounded cool for us modern boys Now you've got one, I hope it's an issue. If you want the side for 'us modern boys' just wait until you hear the flip! "Talk To Me" is the side... and it's an awesome Modern Soul record. The whole LP, from whence it came, "Ode To My Lady" is a must. Also contains the BEAUTIFUL "Just Another Day" (which is also on 45) and "Love Me Back" a tremendous Modern dancer! Sean
Guest sigher the gutter snype Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 damm....was a demo copy oh! well was only cheap, cheers for the heads up sean. looks like i will get the lp and im gonna get that "sunshine lady" cant get that outa me head from the youtube clip
Sean Hampsey Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Can't go wrong with Willie. You're right... "Sunshine Lady" is a Beaut... and wait 'til you hear "Talk To Me" "Just Another Day" "Love Me Back" off the "Ode" LP. Also recommend "AintThat Mellow, Mellow" "All about The Money Game" off the "Foxy Brown" album... and the awesome "I Can Sure Give You Love" and "After Love Has Gone" on the "House Party LP. Heads up on "Tell Me Why Has Our Love Turned Cold" too, the unreleased UK TMG 45... which is a superb slice of 70's soul... and there's loads more from Mr Hutch. Sean
Blake H Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Willie's "Easy does it" Whitfield went down a storm a couple of Orwells ago, courtesy of Mr Page BH
Steve Plumb Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Willie's "Easy does it" Whitfield went down a storm a couple of Orwells ago, courtesy of Mr Page BH Aye, many a Willie tune gets played at The Orwell.................................I think 'Just another day' is well ripe for reactivation............total Yarmouth classic! Seany baby - what about that wonderful deep cut on 'Ode to my lady' LP?.........coincidentally, was only playing the LP yesterday night - had to sit down and listen to the whole thing - total classic Willie was THE man!!!! Cheers Steve
Guest Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Hi... Also check out his other Whitfield lp entitled 'Midnight Dancer' for the tune 'Never let you be without love'. Beautiful record. Ta, Miles

Sean Hampsey Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Unless of course you have the UK TMG issue which has 'Get Ready For The Get Down' on the flip  Mike That's right Mike... but, curiously, the Aussie 45 is the same as the US 45 (Love Power B/w Talk To Me). Raised a few eyebrows when I've played it out cos it looks just like a UK TMG on the decks. Have a Good 'Un Mike! Sean

Ta, Miles I always wondered why "Everyday Love" never got spins from same, US only, album...?? Perhaps I've answered my own question there. It's a (shock-horror!) album track!
