Dave Rimmer Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 If you read what Steve Sayles posted on Facebook, you’ve read most of the book before. 1
Steve S 60 Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 I've had "a look inside" and it wasn't pretty.
Timillustrator Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 There's some horrific typos in that preview and some dodgy punctuation. Looks like no one proofread it.

Timillustrator Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 Nice one, if I ever write a book I know who to ask (or should that be whom?).

If the sentence was longer, and the subjects or clauses more complicated, then the comma would help clarify meaning for the reader. In an informal context - which this is - readers can understand what is meant without the Oxford comma easily enough, so the lack of it can be readily accepted and excused. Clarity of meaning in the minds of readers trumps the sometimes arcane rules of overly complicated English grammar. 2

Unfortunately, no amount of punctuation is going to improve the actual content in this book, judging by the samples I've read. Edited August 30, 2018 by Steve S 60 2
Frankie Crocker Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Who is Steve Sayles? Why does the cover have the word “funky” on it? Too many Northern Soul books have suffered from poor spelling and lack of proof-reading so I hope this is attended to before publication.

Assuming that the "Look Inside" feature on the Amazon website takes you inside the finished product, then no, it hasn't been attended to before publication. 1
Guest Spain pete Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Think I'll just keep on listening and discovering SOUL MUSIC , my time is valuable
