Drew3 Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Are there any tunes on the scene that were only ever demos? Not asking about records where only a demo has been found, with there being a strong possibilty of there being some issues out there somewhere. Question is more about there being those where it is known that the record never got a release because the radio stations didn't play it or whatever, therefore lots of demos but no issues. Can't decide if this question makes sense now!!!! Oh well. KTF. Drew.

Lots of tracks issued as a demo only I think......for example: Little Dooley - If Ever I Needed You - Ko Ko Only ever released as a demo
Bjorn Nilsson Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I'm sure there is many but one that springs to mind is Connie Laverne - I can't live without you on GSF. Pretty sure there's only demos of that one?
Steve Plumb Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I'm sure there is many but one that springs to mind is Connie Laverne - I can't live without you on GSF. Pretty sure there's only demos of that one? & of course The Anderson Brothers
Chalky Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Kell Osborne - Law Against A Heartbreaker - Highland, only two known demos. Dunno if any issues ever pressed but pretty sure none known about.
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Ren Woods - Get It Right (Elektra) was, I'm pretty sure, only pressed as a double sided demo. It's largely forgotten now but it was one of those early 'modern' tunes that used to get played at the time of Glenda McCloud's first appearance at do's. TONE

Hi Even though It was only Issued with the LP, Technically The Silhouettes - Not Me Baby - Goodway & has anyone seen a Stock Copy of Dana Valery - You Don't Know Where Your Interest Lies - Columbia I'm sure I haven't, There is the rarer White & Black DEMO but? I hope someone can prove me wrong with this and provide a scan, I've searched and never found one, nothing on PopSike only DEMO's. If I am correct, The next question would be, why 2 DEMO's & no Stock Copy?
davidwapples Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 never seen an issue of patti williams , because i love him on sunflower , was it ever issued had 3 demos but no issue

Hi Pete Wow, That was quick, Thanks for that. It's a funny old game this collecting. I hope someone has a scan, but hey, I'm just pleased to know It exists. Another conundrum solved, thanks, I thought that there should be a Stock Copy. It was really confusing me as to why I had never seen one. I suppose some records Just never cross your path, strange Isn't It, Because I've been collecting 38 years I've just thought of another DEMO only - I haven't got this one, suppose I never will Chubby Checker - You Just Don't Know - Parkway Edited December 8, 2006 by 45cellar

Regards, Dave www.theresthatbeat.com www.hitsvillesoulclub.com Hi Dave I haven't seen a Demures - Stock Copy Either. Certain records you sort of expect to be there, and through time It becomes apparent that they were never issued. The only way of possibly finding out is to ask on Forums like ours. As we both know, It's a slow process tracking down the Existance of some of the Ric-Tic White DEMO's. This is an ongoing project at HitsvilleSoulClub, If anyone can help with the missing Ric-Tic White DEMO's >> Link << This quest has been going on for a long time ......... Soul Source Post ....... >> Link << 2004 I picked this one up from Soul Bowl in the 70's <-- Some DEMO's, we believe may be Coloured DEMO Only. As we've never seen a Genuine White one .... Yet! Rather hoping that someone can help to confirm the missing DEMO's You Never stop learning, when collecting. I have discovered the existance of 2 other records Today. Just By Asking The Question on here, I can't thank them enough Not bad considering that I have been collecting 38 years. I suppose It comes down to right place right time with some records If not, you never see them. How many times I've said that I've never seen a ".........." Only to be told by someone that they had seen loads, "tripping over them mate  seen hundreds" I suppose that is what makes collecting fun ........ It's almost like "hide them, he's here" I love every minute of It, ........ Honestly I used to think that - The Star-Treks - Gonna Need Magic - Veep ---Was DEMO Only I have been told that Stock Copies Exist, However I still haven't seen one. Anyone got a scan?
