Girdwoodinc Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 It really is a strange world - so Manny has a set of bootlegs up for auction at the moment (just added today) already sitting at over £200 with 3 weeks to go. I get people collecting etc but do people really collect boots and pay that much for them...personally don't get it but each to their own I guess...would rather spend the cash on something else...
Paul R Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Soul sounds boots are part of the history of the scene, more about memorabilia than a record collection. 1

Not just any bootlegs these are S&S bootlegs. a full set of Soul Sounds in Ex/M- condition. Could go for quite a tidy sum IMHO. 2
Girdwoodinc Posted July 26, 2018 Author Posted July 26, 2018 Thanks guys, may just be my age with this one
Woodbutcher Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 £262 for 30 records , less than £9 each for a full set of historical memorabilia sounds a good deal to me , especially considering the quality of the pressing. 1
Roburt Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Yep, the first NS boots to be pressed up. The labels releases chronicle what were the top niter sounds in the 1967 -70 period.
Benji Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 You lot sound quite hypocritical to me. These are bootlegs, no matter when they were pressed. This site does not condone selling pressings. Yet, when they appear on Manship's site, suddenly all good? Is auctioning the first 30 Soussan Soul Galore pressings just as good? 2
Tomangoes Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 Not much use apart from personal use? Better to spend the money on a set of grapevine 45s....at least they are all first UK issues and could be dj'd with. Ed
Frankie Crocker Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 Never come across these before. Evidently of some nostalgic value to someone. Certainly a museum piece...perhaps someone’s opening up a Museum of Northern Soul. Would look good framed on the wall of a record room. Very much doubt they will be played by the eventual winner, let alone spun in public.
Guest Spain pete Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 what are the said boots? / is the music any good ?
