Still think "Baby I cried" is the best side though Gouch 1

I did put a thread up a few months ago regarding CJ.. someone kindly added the you tube clip I was referring to a group performing 'disco inferno with a Charles Johnson on lead.... to my ears it could be the same guy on the clip.... They took a copy to Wigan and Soul Sam played it as his last record of his spot before Pat Brady took over(this was its 1st play at a Northern allnigter). Ironically as there were only a few dancing Mr Brady faded it out before Charley lets go. Pep had copies in his shop at the time along with many other new releases . John Manship had it on his list too. Don"t remember Soul Bowl selling it as a new release. I still have the magazine somewhere). Because the magazine was for Deep Soul fans, the recommendation was for the A Side "Baby I Cried". It only cost me about £1.75. 1

(TOM Paddison On Here) both bought copies same day. Played it That weekend and it took off but it disappeared for sale as quick as it appeared and remained in demand since, A true soul masterpiece and yes Manship was right, The "A" side damn good too. Always looked like a Hippie but he has a fabulous record collection, got a great memory of all things (back then) and could always be seen on stage at venues with his note book, always greeted people with "Bless You My Child" a loveable Character

Not the usual disco mix, but simply a complete recording including what happened after the ad-lib part of the 7" mix. As good as the song is, the last 30 odd seconds take it to a higher level.
